Defense Ammunition Center Intern On-boarding
First Year Information
First Year Training and Expectations
During the first year (Phase 1), the delivery of training consists of a blended learning approach that includes a combination of instructor-led training, facilitated web-based training, and hands-on training. There are usually no travel requirements during Phase 1.
During the first year, interns are expected to:
- Complete assigned individual and small group projects (coursework and assignments are completed during work hours. Rarely are interns assigned homework)
- Handle live ammunition in a controlled and supervised environment
- Work outdoors occasionally (inclement weather included)
- Wear personal protective equipment such as a mask and butyl rubber suit
